Experiencing more secure virtualization environments
Taipei Taiwan, 20 June 2017 - QSAN, enterprise data storage manufacturer, announced that the XCubeSAN series have received the VMware® vSphere™ 6.5 certification to accelerate the customer transition to digital transformation and cloud computing.
QSAN's SANOS 4.0 supports VAAI primitives including Hardware Assisted Locking (ATS), Block Zero, Full Copy, and Thin Provisioning. VAAI is a set of APIs that allow ESXi hosts to offload specific virtual machine and storage management tasks to the SAN. With the support of SANOS 4.0 VAAI, it can offload the ESXi system overheads and as a result the ESXi system can reduce the usage of its CPU, memory, and storage fabric bandwidth. Therefore, the XCubeSAN series can greatly enhance the performance of operations in a virtualized environment. By incorporating QSAN storage solutions for virtualization, users can expand their capacity with minimal cost and complexity.
The XCubeSAN family is a virtualization-ready SAN storage system. It supports vMotion, DRS, HA from VMware and Live Migration from Hyper-V and XenMotion from Citrix. You can use a dual-active SAN storage solution to construct a failsafe server virtualization deployment: All VM image files are stored in the XCubeSAN storage. No matter if it is the failure of VM or a physical server or storage system, the server virtualization solution has no single point of failure from head to toe and can provide non-stop services all the time. The XCubeSAN series dual–active SAN storage is most definitely “best practice” for server virtualization.
With the updated certification, the XCubeSAN family joins the powerful XS3200 and XS5200 series. The XCubeSAN series includes various rack-mount form factors, and offer scalable storage and support for 10Gb Ethernet and 16Gb Fibre Channel. The XCubeSAN family offers even greater scalability and performance. Between these product lines, VMware users can select the most suitable model and that most closely meets their needs and their budget.
Built with interoperability for the most popular operating systems, the XCubeSAN family can be used for datacenter storage, server virtualization, archiving, cold storage, backup, large-scale surveillance, video streaming and editing.
